The Right Path

Six months after going nomadic, a talented documentary filmmaker and friend followed me through the desert. She was searching for answers on the right path to take in her life. Here’s what she learned:

To this day, I find it ironic this piece is titled The Right Path as I have no idea what that is. I still struggle to figure out which direction to chart in life - and I repeatedly let fear get in the way as I fumble through my own missteps and mistakes.

But, nearly three and a half years ago, this wide-eyed traveler set off on a path without knowing where it would lead. And at some point, I stumbled upon a nugget of wisdom that I still believe holds true to this day:

“Whatever path you take, whatever decision you make, whatever direction you choose, is going to be the right one at the end of the day. So long as you do it purposefully and are satisfied with how you spent your time, everything is going to work out just fine.”

You see, while this was filmed nearly four years ago, I never released it until now. Upon reflection, I realize I was afraid to share it until I had the “perfect” way to do it. I left perfection and fear stand in the way of sharing something beautiful. But life goes on and it’s time to tell the tale.

To whoever is reading this: I hope that you experience your wildest dreams in life. I hope you make the most of every minute you are given. And I hope that you sleep well at night, knowing that the path you chose was the right one.
