There are other worlds than these 🌎

These were Jake Chambers’ final words in Steven King’s The Gunslinger as he let go of life and descends into what lies beyond. This line has stuck with me, and caused me to reflect on the worlds that lie beyond on our own.

Some of us explore other worlds through psychedelics in search of answers, a deeper understanding, and a glimpse into what lies beyond the veil of this existence.

Others connect with spirit; their minds open doors to worlds we cannot see and return with messages of love, loss, and remembrance from their plane of existence to our own.

As for me, I’m fascinated by the worlds within my dreams. Surreal spaces where the confines of time and space no longer exist, and where everything imaginable is possible. There are other worlds than these, indeed ✨

Yet, life can feel so small sometimes. Problems seem so large. We get lost in our own tiny, little worlds. Brooding over our setbacks and failures because they seem so big to us in that moment. They consume us. Eclipse us.

But there are other worlds than these. Other places our mind can explore beyond fear, sadness, regret - or whatever thoughts or emotions that cast shadows on our inner worlds.

There is so much magic to discover in this life. Vast universes of knowledge, literature, and art around every turn. New ideas, cultures, and ways to expand our awareness and extend our consciousness around every corner.

So next time your world feels small, remember there is more to life than this. There are so many beautiful places to go, experiences to be shared, and interesting beings to meet. And within each of them, is a universe of new ideas, new perspectives, and new opportunities for us to learn, evolve, and expand our horizons.
