Georgia on my mind 🍑

A month ago I threw a dart on the map and it landed on the Georgia coast 🎯 So, naturally, I packed my bags and bought a one-way ticket to Savannah 🤷🏻‍♂️

Since then, I’ve spent my time soaking up the sights and sounds of the Empire State of the south. And I’m excited to tell you all about it 📣

Just a stone’s throw from South Carolina, this slice of Southern paradise is known for its neatly manicured town squares, horse-drawn carriages, and antebellum architecture 💒 It’s cobblestoned streets are lined with majestic oak trees draped with Spanish moss, whimsical ghost tours and gothic churches, and college students sipping sugary drinks from go-cups 🥤

On any given afternoon, you can find Savanians strolling through Forsyth Park, Bonaventure Cemetery, or sampling some of the best Southern cuisine this side of the Mississippi 🍤 And within a short drive, you could kick your feet up in the small coastal towns of the Golden Isles, where living is easy, the waves roll in, and the hustle and bustle of life subsides 🌊

But beyond all this, there is something truly special about Savannah that is hard to describe. Unlike anywhere else in America, you can feel th historical significance in every step 🥾 Monuments beckon at every turn. Candle lights flicker amidst the evening fog. And around every corner, history and southern tradition abound🥀

Some may attribute this to its deep ties to the confederate south. Others suggest spirits of the past haunt the inhabitants of the city 👻 Regardless of the reason, I know this to be true:

In Savannah, lines are blurred between past and present. Life and death. Endings and beginnings. And in preserving the past, we’re reminded that everything changes. and nothing is truly lost ✨

Speaking of which, it is time for me to get lost.

And while I leave my time here in Georgia in the past, I’ll carry with me memories made, lessons learned, and the excitement of new beginnings. Next Stop: Charleston, South Carolina 🙌
