After three weeks in Cabo, I couldn’t be more excited to travel to the mainland of Mexico and see what life is like in Oaxaca City 🤗
Living in Oaxaca has always been a dream of mine. For as long as I can remember, I wanted nothing more than to experience its rich culture, authentic Oaxacan cuisine, and rub elbows with the locals 👨🏽
Unlike the beautiful resorts of Los Cabos, Oaxaca is a true, authentic Mexican experience. The cobblestone streets are lined with brightly colored buildings. There is music in streets, neighborhood dogs, and mercados bursting with life and local traditions 🎊
Widely considered the gastronomic capital of Mexico, Oaxaca is best known for its seven varieties of mole - a thick, complex sauce served with meat and rice. The smoky-sweet moles negros are rich and chocolatey, the mezcal is strong and abundant, and the street tacos are to die for 🤤
Over the last week, I’ve even stepped out of my comfort and tried local delicacies like worm salt, crickets, and even grasshoppers 😳
In a nutshell, life is simple and special here in Oaxaca. The food is cheap, the people are proud and friendly, and you can find culture and history around every corner 🇲🇽
