After three months grieving the loss of my mother with my family, it was time to get back to doing what I love most - exploring the world. So ten days ago I packed up my things, hopped on a plane, and setup shop in one of my favorite places in the world: Boulder, Colorado.
When I first started traveling full time two years ago, Colorado was the first place on my list. There’s just something about being out in nature, going on adventures, and soaking up the great outdoors that truly speaks to me. So naturally, I rented a jeep wrangler for a month with the goal of getting lost in the mountains, decompressing from the last few months, and reconnecting with my purpose in life. And boy, have I hit the ground running 🏃🏻♂️
Over the last ten days, I’ve trekked over 700 miles of mountain terrain from Estes Park down through the San Luis valley, traversed Great Sand Dunes National Park, hiked a frozen waterfall, camped out in Crestone, lost my mind at Meow Wolf, experienced extra-terrestrials at the UFO Watchtower, soaked in a scolding hot creek in Mt Princeton’s Hot Springs, stopped over in South Park, took the road less traveled to an old mining ghost town, stayed the night in the historic and haunted Patterson Inn and a shady roadside motel in Salida, fumbled my way through a farmers market, and eaten my body’s weight in green chili cheeseburgers 🍔
But best of all, I’ve spent quality time with some of my best friends Xander Vlastos and Blair Avery and shared a series of adventures with the spookiest sheet ghost in the west, Sara Carlson.
Getting back out there has been exciting, but it hasn’t been easy. I feel the loss of my mother each time I instinctively grab my phone to check in - and it’s painful. But I know it’ll get easier in time. Above all, it just feels good to be back -
On the road again 🚙
