Six Weeks in Switzerland 🇨🇭

As I pack my belongings after nearly six weeks in Switzerland, I took a moment to reflect upon my time in the Swiss Alps.

Switzerland is incredibly unique in so many ways. Famously known for its chocolate and fondue, Switzerland is indeed a melting pot of three distinct cultures.

The Swiss German region dominates much of the country with its endless supply of sophisticated railways winding through surreal mountain landscapes.

There are endless opportunities for adventure here. Whether you journey above the clouds to the summit of Jungfrau or Piz Gloria at the Top of Europe, paraglide above Interlaken’s emerald waters, or snowboard any one of its pristine snow capped mountains, the experience is always breathtaking.

This region is highlighted by its wonderfully scenic panoramic trains that glide effortlessly through plush green fields, enormous glaciers, and snowy mountain terrain all while the massive mountain ranges of the Matterhorn, Pilatus, and Rigi beckon in the horizon.

Its French region offers a totally different flavor. Bordering the crystal blue waters of Lake Geneva, on any given afternoon you could take in a jazz ensemble along Montreax’s scenic promenade, stroll past the flowering clocks of Geneva’s old town, or witness the most memorable view of the French Alps while strolling the vineyards of Grandveaux.

Finally, a journey to its Italian region feels as if stumbled upon a tropical paradise where the sun shines warmly on the cobblestoned streets of Lugano and Lucarno while fashionable tourists sip Aeporal Spritz amidst the soft breeze of gently swaying palm trees.

Switzerland is a truly a place unlike any other and I know there is so much more to explore. But new adventures are calling and it’s time for my train to depart the station.

So it’s time to say So Long, Switzerland - your schnitzel and strange carnivals were a delight on the senses, but I will see you again in time.
