This morning, I’ll sell the last of my belongings, spend some time with my family, and tomorrow I’ll leave to travel the world. I have no specific plan in mind, no length of time for how long I’ll travel, and no idea where I’ll end up. All i know is that this is the end of one chapter and the start of the next.
I had wanted to document every step of this journey for you. I had planned to show you what it’s actually like to sell everything you own, make the necessary preparations, and set off on a grand adventure. I also wanted to document this part of the journey for myself, so i could look back on it years from now and reflect on what it was like. But sometimes life has other plans.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve had close to a dozen doctor’s appointments, stem cell injections to repair a torn labrum, and an eleven and a half hour elective surgery. I’ve worked past 2am nearly every night, inventoried, sold, or donated every last thing i own, worked through some difficult and painful emotional issues, and tried my best to make time for friends and loved ones. Needless to say, it’s left little time for social media. But that’s life.
Looking toward the future, i know there will be many more unexpected twists and turns, but that will be part of the fun. I‘m excited for all the ups and downs, highs and lows, and everything in between. I don’t know what to expect, or how it will go, but i’m stoked to share this journey with you.
So, thanks Miami for twelve great years. You’re way too damn hot and the traffic is miserable, but you’ve been good to me and i’m grateful for all the experiences and friends I’ve made along the way. But now it’s time to go. Time to cram my entire life into a suitcase, turn off the lights, and lock the door behind me. Here’s to whatever comes next. Onward and upward!
