Life can get pretty busy sometimes. I’ve been traveling nonstop across Switzerland and Ireland for the past three months while running my law firm from my laptop. And in between, trying to maintain a reasonable diet, exercise, and creating space for friendship and hobbies.
It’s been a wild adventure, filled personal and professional growth, and unique experiences that I will never forget. But it’s also been incredibly exhausting. And quite frankly, it’s wearing me down.
At the moment, I’ve tried juggling it all while simultaneously spending 6-8 hours a day driving across Ireland‘s magnificent countryside. And I started to feel rushed. I found myself scrambling from one destination to the next, my phone going in and out of service trying to find roadside cafés for work calls, and packing my life into a rental car each night booking hotels from the phone while avoiding cute little sheep meandering across the road.
And after going at it for over a week, I realized I was burning myself out. And the magnificent journey I was on suddenly felt like a burden 😕
At times like these, I have to remember to just slow down. To stop trying to check everything off my bucket list. To make time to rest and recharge. And to leave this busy world behind by disconnecting and stepping out into nature.
So, that’s exactly what I did.
I woke up yesterday and sat alongside a cliff. I stared out at the ocean, watched the waves crash into the shore, and breathed in the salty air. The smell reminded me of a time I played on the beach as a child. And suddenly, time just slowed down ✨
As silly as it may sound, sometimes we just stop and smell the roses. Literally. And find our way back to present moment. Each moment holds all the joy and beauty that life has to offer. And all too often we’re missing it running from one silly thing to the next.
And if we can just slow ourselves down, and remember that the entirety of life is contained within this present moment, we can find contentment, fulfillment, and beauty all around us. And realize how lucky we are to just be alive –
What a wonderful world 🌎
