Exploring the Emerald Isle 🍀

After living in Dublin for the last month, it was time to hit the road and explore the Irish countryside. I enjoyed living like a local in Dublin while also hitting up all the usual stops: the Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin Castle, Trinity Library, and countless pubs in between.

But I suspected that the true magic of Ireland existed outside the city walls. I felt a glimpse of it when walking along Howth’s cliffs, following the coastline from Bray to Greystones, and losing myself in the wonders of Glendalough. You see, Dublin is a vibrant city housing joyous people, vibrant nightlife, and centuries-old castle walls, but cities can only hold so much magic.

So, I drove out into nature (on the wrong side of the road, of course) on an epic adventure through Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. The drive amasses over 1600 miles of tiny winding coastal roads along jagged cliffs, lush green pastures, and the most wonderful tiny towns and quintessential Irish cultural.

In the Irish countryside, magic truly runs wild and free. You’ll discover ancient stone circles. Majestic castles. Roadside pubs with traditional Irish music and dancing. And cliffside views where the horizon stretches out for eternity.

You’ll also encounter unique traffic jams - when sheep meander out into the road. Here, out in the countryside, down every dirt road, you truly experience Ireland’s raw untamed beauty.

Regardless of the route you take, exploring the Emerald Isle is truly a magical experience and one I’ll never forget. I’m a week into the journey with one week left to go - and adventure awaits.
