Los Cabos has been my home for the last few weeks - a beautiful mix of beach, desert, and mountains located at the southern tip of the Baja California Sur peninsula in northwest Mexico.
Los Cabos consists of two popular cities: Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Cabo San Lucas is known for its beautiful beaches, lively nightlife, and all-inclusive resorts. It’s where people to go party 🥳
San Jose del Cabo is a historical city about thirty minutes away known for its colorful colonial architecture, sandy beaches, and Plaza Mijares in the heart of the historic district. It’s still a resort town, but with a lot more culture and local vibe 🤟
An hour from Los Cabos is a small town on the Pacific coast of the Baja California Peninsula called Todos Santos. Backed by the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range, it is the epicenter for surfing in Mexico. It’s full of art galleries, funky surfing hostels, and the infamous Hotel California (but apparently not the one from the song) 🤷🏻♂️
Located at the Northern end of the peninsula is the state capital of La Paz. Known for its seafront Malecón promenade, serene beaches with crystal clear water, and a myriad of bars and restaurants that overlook the ocean, it’s no wonder that Mexicans consider it a little slice of paradise 🌅
From La Paz, you can take a beautiful winding highway through the mountains to discover quaint small towns, cows that freely roam the highway, and best of all, the hidden enchantment of Sol de Mayo. Tucked away down a winding dirt road is an ecological wonder - a true oasis in the desert where you can immerse yourself in majestic waterfalls that run from the mountains and wade in natural turquoise pools within the crystal-esque granite stone of the canyon 🏞
Life truly is different here in Los Cabos. The locals are friendly, the tequila is strong, and there is magic abound in a land where the desert meets the sea ✨
