All too often, we get lost in the hustle and bustle of our day to day life and rarely get a moment step back and focus on what matters.
We’re constantly distracted by emails, texts, deadlines, responsibilities, news, politics, social media, and whatever else life seems to throw at us. It’s exhausting. And it never stops.
We’re just so damn busy all the time doing stuff that really isn’t important while our time in life passes us by, like sand falling through an hour glass, never to return.
It’s times like these when I need to disconnect, set out into the great outdoors, and hike up a damn mountain.
There’s something about being out in nature that resets our soul, calms our mind, and helps us disconnect from the busyness of life.
To sit atop a mountain, look down at the world below, and if only for a moment, be still.
It’s moments like these that help me change my perspective, see things from the higher level, and remind me what’s important in life.
For me, that’s exploring new places, making new friends, and sharing meaningful life experiences. And I am so very grateful to have had these experiences here in Jackson Hole.
Over the last month, I have made so many wonderful friends, set off on some truly exciting adventures, stepped out of my comfort zone, felt like I belonged, and remembered what really matters in life:
It’s not the work we do, the things we buy, or the social status we achieve by doing all the things that make us busy and unfulfilled.
It’s the moments and experiences we share when we are truly present and in the moment - when the busyness fades away, times slows down, and we are fully engaged with the things we do and the people we‘re with. That is when we truly make the most of our time.
That’s what matters.
Like everywhere on my journey, my time here in Jackson will soon come to an end. But I couldn’t be more grateful for the friendships made, experiences shared, and all those moments of happiness shared along the way.
I have truly been on top of the world 🌎
