After nine months living out of AirBNBs, it was time to shake things up and spend a month living in a hostel. And it’s. been. awesome 🙌
At first, the thought of living in a hostel seemed crazy to me. I love my privacy. I enjoy having my own space to work and relax. And let’s face it: who wants to share a bunch of space with strangers during a pandemic? 🤨
But after staying five weeks here I can tell you that’s it’s been great. There’s social distancing requirements that keep the place at less than 50% capacity. Masks are required at all times in the common areas. And the cleaning staff makes sure everything’s spic and span 🧼
On top of all that, its located steps away from everything, features incredibly comfortable and private accommodations, and has a first class staff and experience that makes our shared space truly special ☺️
But best of all, living in a hostel is a great place to make friends and meet fellow travelers. Solo traveling the world is awesome, but it can get lonely sometimes. No one wants to be alone. But being in a shared space has introduced me to such great people and really fun experiences at a time we need it most 🤘
We all face struggles at different times in life. Struggle to travel. To make friends. To enjoy life’s wonders in the face of hardships. These struggles are real, and we all face them ✨
But just know that even in a hostile world, where life is the farthest thing from “normal,” there are still opportunities to find happiness, fulfillment, and enjoyment in life - you just may need to shake things up, step out of your comfort zone, and put yourself out there. Even if it means living in a hostel in a pandemic 😬
